February 27th, 2007

From South Milwaukee and in production from 1925 to 1943, I’ll probably finding out more due to a recent contact to the WPA from collectors Kathy Roberts & Kelly Dudley. They are requesting information people might have on the firm.

February Wisconsin Pottery Association Meeting
February 25th, 2007

The Wisconsin Pottery Association March 13, 2007 meeting is a presentation by Jim Tyne about Nemadji. A couple of websites on the subject:
A book The Myth And Magic Of Nemadji “Indian” Pottery: History, Identification, And Value Guide provides information on the pottery from an author who interviewed many former employees and owners.

Pottery Studio has a brief history (including the info on cards included with the pottery), marks and a gallery.

An interesting bit of information that ties Nemadji to Van Briggle from Garden & Hearth.

A new kind of paper towel!
February 25th, 2007

A package from Uruguay brought an extra surprise along with some unusual “Lucky Strike” cocktail stirrers. The stirrers were wrapped inside the tube of a roll of paper towels & then inside a box. The plastic wrap was used to separate the stirrers from each other. A very clever way to send the fragile stirrers. The brand of the paper towels? Snob
Snob paper towels from Uruguay
The translation tools translate it from Portuguese or Spanish back to Snob in English so I’m sort of at a loss to explain it. A funny thing to get in the mail.
